I am a person who will have friends for 50 years if I can.  I am not a swim through friends as life passes by, just sticking around for the good times and present relationships.  I can remember my oldest friends now, and we have been friends for over 50 years already.  I am 52.  haha.  Are we as close as we used to be?  No.  Do I love them as much as I used to?  Yes…and No.  It isn’t that I mean to love them less…I just don’t know them as well as I used to.  People grow up, move apart (and I mean space-wise, not personality-wise), and then things bring them back together.

By the 1st Grade, most of us can read, we know how to have friends, we know how to love our parents and our friends, we can tie our shoes, get dressed, and for the most part…feed ourselves.  I think the things we learn in our older years are just icing.  I, now, am a neat-freak.  I wasn’t before.  I am sure my child wishes that I weren’t now.  haha.  Over the years, things do change…but I won’t say I ‘learned’ them.  I just practice them on my own now.
